Noria privacy policy
The short version: nothing leaves your iPhone. There is no account, no server, and not a single tracker.

The essentials
- Noria works without an account: no sign-up, no password, no email address.
- Your subscriptions, their amounts, your household's first names and your bank statement stay on your device.
- There is no server of mine. I hold none of your data, and I have no technical means of reaching it.
- No usage measurement, no tracker, no advertising SDK. The app never asks permission to track you across other apps, because it would have no use for it.
- The only outgoing connection downloads the service catalogue. It sends nothing about you.
Who is responsible
Noria is published by Teddy Verneuil, sole trader, 14 bis rue Magellan, 56860 Séné, France. Company number 792 687 576 00043. Contact: [email protected]. He is the data controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), bearing in mind that the processing is limited to what runs on your own device.
What stays on your iPhone
Everything: the names of your subscriptions, their amounts, their due dates, your profiles and the first names you give them, who pays for what and for whom, your notes, your customer reference numbers, and your name and address if you enter them for a cancellation letter.
This lives in a database on your device and is included in your iPhone backup if you use one. I have no access to it.
Deleting the app deletes this data. You can also erase it without uninstalling, in Settings → "Delete all your data".
iCloud: your space, not mine
If iCloud sync is switched on for your iPhone, Noria puts your data there so your devices stay in agreement. It goes into your private iCloud database, the one belonging to your Apple account, encrypted by Apple.
I have no access to that database: I cannot read it, export it, or know what you pay. Technically it is as much yours as your iCloud photos.
You can turn this sync off in your iPhone's iCloud settings. Noria then keeps working locally.
Your bank statement
This is the most sensitive part of the app, so let's be precise.
When you import a statement, the file is read and analysed on your iPhone. It is sent nowhere, it is not kept, and no connection to your bank is ever requested. Noria knows neither your banking credentials, nor your IBAN, nor your card number.
What the analysis produces, the payments it spotted, is shown on screen. You tick what you want to keep. The rest is forgotten when you close the screen.
The catalogue: it comes down, nothing goes up
The app downloads a catalogue of services: their names, their logos, their cancellation rules, and for France some public prices.
That download is a page load like any other. It carries no information about you: not your subscriptions, not your amounts, not an identifier. The server sees what any web server sees: an IP address and a request for a public file.
The catalogue also ships inside the app: it works entirely without a network.
Notifications are local
Payment reminders, price increase alerts and cancellation windows are scheduled by your iPhone, from your data, on your device. There is no notification server, and no device token is sent to me.
iCloud sync does use Apple's mechanism for telling your devices that another one changed something. That mechanism is Apple's, and it carries no content to me.
Purchases
They are handled by Apple. No payment method passes through Noria, and I never see your card number, your billing address or your name. Apple gives me aggregated sales statistics, which identify nobody.
Why, and on what legal basis
- Performance of the service: without processing the subscriptions you enter, there is no total, no calendar and no alert.
- Consent: notifications, which you accept or refuse in iOS and can withdraw at any time in Settings.
There is no other legal basis to invoke, because there is no other processing. This data is never sold, rented or passed to advertisers, and there is no advertising profiling.
How long
- Your data is kept for as long as you keep the app.
- It disappears when you uninstall it, or immediately if you use "Delete all your data", which also erases the iCloud copy.
- I keep nothing, because I receive nothing.
Where it is hosted
- Your iPhone, for everything you enter.
- Apple Inc., for your private iCloud database if you enabled it, for system notifications and for purchases.
- Cloudflare, Inc., for the service catalogue and this site: public files, with no personal data.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data. Since it sits on your device, you exercise those rights directly, without writing to anyone:
- Access and rectification: everything is visible and editable in the app.
- Portability: Settings → Export, which produces a CSV file readable in any spreadsheet.
- Erasure: Settings → "Delete all your data", or uninstall.
For any question, write to [email protected]: I answer within thirty days. You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL, at cnil.fr, or with your own national authority.
Security
Your data is protected by your iPhone's encryption and by the passcode or biometrics that unlock it. Noria adds a lock of its own, Face ID or Touch ID, which you can enable in the settings.
The catalogue download is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
No security is absolute, but the important part here is structural: what I don't hold cannot leak from me.
Children
Noria is not intended for children under 15 and does not knowingly collect their data. The first names of household members are entered by the adult using the app, on their own device.
Changes
This policy may change along with the app. The update date at the top of this page prevails, and any significant change will be announced in the app.
