Waycash terms of use
What Waycash does, what it does not, what is free and what is paid.
Last updated: 13 August 2026.
1. Purpose
These terms govern the use of the Waycash iPhone app and of the web invitation page that comes with it. Installing or using Waycash means accepting them. If you do not accept them, simply do not use the app.
2. What the service does
Waycash is a travel budget app. It records your expenses, converts them into your home currency at the rate of the day you paid, tells you what you can still spend, and splits the balance between the travelers on a trip.
What Waycash is not:
- it is not a payment service: the app makes no transfer, holds no funds and connects to no bank account;
- it is not financial, tax or legal advice;
- it is not an accounting record of evidentiary value: the figures shown depend on what travelers type in.
Split and settlement calculations are indicative. Financial arrangements between travelers are theirs alone.
3. The account
The app works without an account. The account, created with Sign in with Apple, only exists to back up your trips and share them. You agree to create an account for yourself only, and not to impersonate another traveler when joining a trip.
You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
4. The share link
Each trip can be shared through a unique link. Anyone holding that link can see the trip name, its dates, the travelers' first names, and add an expense, with no account and no install.
You are responsible for whom you send that link to. Do not publish it publicly. By sharing it, you confirm you have informed the people whose first names you entered.
5. What is free, what is paid
- Your first two trips are entirely free, with no feature held back, group mode and share link included.
- Joining someone else's trip is free, and always will be, including without an account through the share link.
- From the third trip on, the Trip Pass unlocks one more trip for good. It is a one-off purchase that never renews.
- The yearly subscription unlocks unlimited trips. It renews automatically unless cancelled at least twenty-four hours before the end of the period, in your Apple account settings.
Prices shown in the app prevail and may vary by country. Purchases are collected by Apple under App Store terms. Refund requests go to Apple, the only contact for billing. The free trip count is based on trips created: deleting a trip does not give an allowance back.
6. Your commitments
- use the app lawfully;
- do not attempt to access other people's trips, bypass limits or disrupt the service;
- only enter information you are entitled to process, in particular other travelers' first names;
- keep your Apple credentials confidential.
7. Availability and changes
Waycash is provided "as is". I do what is needed for it to work, without guaranteeing uninterrupted availability, the complete absence of errors, or compatibility with every future version of iOS. Features may evolve, appear or disappear.
Since your data stays on your iPhone, the app keeps working offline and even if the server is unavailable.
8. Liability
You remain the only one deciding how you spend. I cannot be held liable for a decision made on the basis of a figure shown, for a typing error, for an exchange rate provided by a third-party service, or for a financial dispute between travelers.
Nothing in these terms sets aside the rights French law grants to consumers, in particular the legal guarantee of conformity.
9. Intellectual property
The Waycash name, its visual identity, its screens and its code belong to me. The data you enter remains yours: I claim no right over it and use it for nothing other than running the service.
10. Ending use
You may stop using Waycash whenever you like, by deleting your account and then the app. I reserve the right to suspend access in case of manifestly abusive or unlawful use, after notice except in emergencies.
11. Changes to these terms
These terms may change. The update date at the top of this page prevails, and any significant change will be announced in the app.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. In case of disagreement, an amicable solution will be sought first: write to [email protected].
Failing agreement, any consumer may turn free of charge to a consumer mediator or to the European online dispute resolution platform. French courts have jurisdiction.
