Reptor terms of use

What Reptor does, what it is not, what is free and what is paid.

Last updated: 6 October 2026

1. Purpose

These terms govern the use of the Reptor app, published by Teddy Verneuil, sole trader. By installing and using Reptor, you accept them. If you don't accept them, don't use the app.

2. What Reptor does

Reptor counts your push-ups through your iPhone's camera, judges every rep (depth, arm extension, body alignment) and, if you ask it to, builds a training plan that adapts to your results.

All the analysis happens on your phone. No video is recorded or transmitted.

3. What Reptor is not

Reptor is a sports and performance tracking app. It is not a medical device, not a diagnosis, not medical advice, and the rep count is not a certified measurement.

Physical training carries risks. You alone judge whether you are fit to train. If you have pain, a medical history or any doubt, consult a health professional before using the app. Reptor asks you to confirm this before your first session and pauses your plan for as long as you report joint pain, but that safeguard does not replace your own judgement.

4. No account

Reptor asks for no account, no email address and no password. Your data stays on your device. So there is nothing to sign in to, nothing that can be stolen from a server, and nothing we can look at on your behalf. Only two optional features, which you turn on yourself, take part of your results out to Apple: Apple Health and the Game Center leaderboard. The detail is in the privacy policy.

The trade-off is that this data lives on that iPhone only. If you delete the app or lose the device, it is gone.

5. The camera

Reptor needs camera access in order to count. You grant it at your first session and you can withdraw it at any time in the iOS settings.

Frames are analysed and then discarded immediately. Only the joint positions are extracted from them, for the duration of the calculation. Nothing is written to disk, nothing is sent anywhere.

6. Apple Health and the Game Center leaderboard (optional)

These two features stay off until you turn them on yourself, and you can turn them off at any time: Reptor works without them. They rely on Apple services, subject to Apple's own terms, which you accept by using them. What exactly they send is detailed in the privacy policy.

Apple Health. If you turn it on in your Profile, Reptor writes a workout to Apple Health for each completed session, on your iPhone. Reptor reads nothing from it. Once written, those workouts are managed by Apple Health and by you: you can withdraw the permission and delete the workouts in the Health app. The energy burned shown there is an estimate, calculated from the weight you entered. It has no medical value.

Game Center leaderboard. Joining the leaderboard is a choice, which you make on the leaderboard screen after an explanation of what is shared. If you join, your scores (the number of camera-validated repetitions in the week and your best single session, in two categories) are published under your Game Center name and visible to other players. That name is the one on your Game Center account: pick one you are comfortable with, since we do not control it.

You can leave the leaderboard at any time: Reptor then stops sending your scores. Those already published stay in Game Center until you reset them in Game Center's settings. A Game Center account that Apple flags as a minor's cannot join the leaderboard.

Scores are calculated by the app's camera and are not a certified measurement. The leaderboard, the names and the other players' scores are provided and run by Apple: we do not control them, and we guarantee the availability of neither Game Center nor Apple Health.

7. Free and paid

Counting push-ups is free with no time limit, along with the standard push-up, the knee push-up and the incline push-up.

Reptor Pro unlocks the adaptive training plan, the full history, the detailed form analysis and the additional push-up variations. It is offered on the following terms:

PlanPriceType
Monthly€4.99Renews automatically
Yearly€39.99Renews automatically
Lifetime€79.99One-off purchase, never renews

Both subscription plans include a 7 day free trial. The trial is offered once per Apple ID, and it is not available if you have already had a trial on a Reptor plan.

Payment is charged to your Apple account on confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Renewal is billed within the 24 hours before the period ends. If you cancel during the free trial, nothing is charged.

You manage and cancel your subscriptions from your Apple account settings. We have no way of doing it for you, and no way of refunding you: those requests are handled by Apple.

Prices are shown inclusive of tax and may vary by region and by the exchange rate the App Store applies. They may change in future; an increase never applies to a period already paid for, and Apple notifies you before any renewal concerned.

8. Your obligations

You agree to use Reptor personally and not professionally, not to attempt to circumvent the limits of the free version, not to decompile or modify the app, and not to train beyond what your physical condition allows.

9. Availability

Reptor works offline and depends on no server to count your push-ups. The app may nonetheless stop working correctly following an iOS update, a hardware fault or a bug. We fix what we can, with no guarantee of timing or continuity of service.

10. Liability

Reptor is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, the publisher cannot be held liable for an injury sustained during training, an incorrect rep count, a loss of data following deletion of the app or loss of the device, or any indirect damage related to use of the app.

Nothing in these terms limits the rights French law grants to consumers, in particular the legal guarantee of conformity.

11. Intellectual property

The app, its name, its visual identity, its texts and its analysis engine are the property of the publisher. Buying Reptor Pro grants a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right of use. It transfers no ownership.

The data you produce by training belongs to you.

12. Termination

You can stop using Reptor at any time by deleting the app. An active subscription must be cancelled separately in your Apple account settings: deleting the app does not stop it.

The publisher may end distribution of the app. In that case active subscriptions are no longer renewed and the app stays usable for as long as iOS allows.

13. Changes

These terms may change. The date at the top of this page indicates the latest version. Any significant change is announced in the app. Continuing to use Reptor after a change constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought first. Failing that, the French courts have jurisdiction.

Under the French consumer code, you may use a consumer mediator free of charge, or the European online dispute resolution platform.
