Cue terms of use

What Cue does, what it doesn't do, what is free and what is paid.

Last updated: 27 August 2026

1. Purpose

These terms govern the use of the iPhone app Cue: Video Teleprompter. Installing or using Cue constitutes acceptance of these terms. If you don't accept them, simply don't use the app.

2. What the service does

Cue is a teleprompter. It shows your text under the lens, scrolls it at the speed you choose, and films the take with the iPhone's camera. It files your scripts, measures your reading rate, and offers a writing assistant that rewrites a text so it says itself well out loud.

What Cue is not:

  • it is not editing software: it records a take, it doesn't cut it or assemble it;
  • it is not a publishing service: nothing is sent to a social network, you export to Photos or Files yourself;
  • it is not a storage service: your takes live on your iPhone, not on a server.

The duration shown for a script is an estimate calculated from the word count and the chosen pace. It does not predict how you will actually read it.

3. No account

Cue works without an account. There is nothing to create, nothing to connect, no password. A subscription, when you take one, is attached to your Apple account and not to an account with me.

4. What is free, what is paid

The full prompter is free: unlimited scripts, unlimited takes, front and rear camera, the four formats, the speed test, document import. Nothing is rationed out.

Cue Pro unlocks six things: the writing assistant, 4K capture, 60 frames per second, audio clean-up, external display output and the glass format.

PlanPriceType
Monthly€4.99Auto-renewing subscription
Yearly€34.99Auto-renewing subscription

The subscription renews automatically, unless cancelled at least twenty-four hours before it is due, in your Apple account settings.

The prices shown in the app prevail and may vary by country. Purchases are collected by Apple, under the App Store terms. Refund requests go to Apple, the only contact for billing.

5. The writing assistant

The Cue assistant relies on a third party language model. Whatever you ask it to rewrite is sent to be processed; the detail is in the privacy policy.

What it gives back is a proposal, never a truth. A language model can invent a fact, get a date wrong, or write a sentence that doesn't sound like you. Nothing is applied to your script until you say yes, and you remain responsible for what you say in front of the camera.

Use of the assistant is bounded by monthly and daily caps, meant to contain the cost of the service. Those caps may be adjusted. In the event of obviously automated or abusive use, access to the assistant may be suspended.

You agree not to submit unlawful content to the assistant, nor sensitive personal data belonging to third parties.

6. Your commitments

  • Use the app in accordance with the law.
  • Film people only with their agreement, and respect their image rights.
  • Submit to the assistant only texts you have the right to process.
  • Do not attempt to circumvent the limits of the service or to disrupt it.

7. Availability and changes

Cue is provided "as is". I do what is needed to keep it working, without guaranteeing uninterrupted availability, the total absence of errors, or compatibility with every future version of iOS. Features may change, be added or be removed.

The prompter, the camera and the library work offline. Only the writing assistant needs the internet, and its server being unavailable never stops you reading or filming.

8. Liability

I cannot be held liable for a take lost through mishandling, lack of storage space or a device failure, for a text produced by the assistant, or for the use you make of the videos you record.

Back up the takes that matter: export them to Photos or Files. Deleting the app deletes what it contains.

Nothing in these terms sets aside the rights French law grants to consumers, in particular the legal guarantee of conformity.

9. Intellectual property

The name Cue, its visual identity, its screens and its code belong to me.

Your scripts and your takes remain yours. I claim no rights over them, I exploit them for no other purpose, and they are not used to train any model.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using Cue whenever you want. The "Delete all my data" button, in the app settings, erases your scripts, your takes, your files and your settings, along with the usage counters kept on the server side. The deletion is immediate and irreversible.

Cancelling the subscription is done separately, in your Apple account settings: it is not mine to cancel.

11. Changes to these terms

These terms may be amended. The update date at the top of this page prevails, and any significant change will be announced in the app.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a disagreement, an amicable solution will be sought first: write to [email protected].

Failing agreement, any consumer may use a consumer mediator free of charge, or the European online dispute resolution platform. The French courts have jurisdiction.
